Three Day Goat School

Are you thinking about getting dairy goats for your family’s milk supply?

In this workshop, you will learn everything you need to care for your own dairy goats and make fabulous cheeses.

In the sessions, we’ll go over planning for shelter and fencing with your existing spaces in mind so that all participants can leave with a set-up plan. We’ll spend time in the kitchen making cheeses: chèvre, ricotta, feta, mozza and paneer, yogurt, cream, butter and ice-cream. Each participant can purchase their own milk and make these dairy products in their own homes as we go.

We will practice hand-milking our Aurora goats and practice trimming hooves, administering needles, giving a drench, taking a temperature, and wrapping a wound.

By the end of session you will be ready for goats! Some Aurora Farm goats may be available for purchase to families who have taken this course. Take one more, big step towards food-security and health for your family.

One session only each year! Three days from 9am – 3pm  
Cost: $375 plus GST per person.

$100 plus GST for second person in a family. Children and youth under 16 are free to attend.
