Want to try your hand at gardening this summer but aren’t sure where to start?This workshop will introduce the basics of how and when to plant, how to prepare your soil, how to feed and weed. You will leave this workshop with some bedding plants, seeds and compost to get your gardens growing, including:
1. A Cherry Tomato plant from a cutting with basil and calendula seeds in a pot
2. Three Sisters – seeds for Corn, beans and Squash
3. Cucumbers for a climbing nasturtium trellis
4. Tobacco seeds to grow throughout your garden for pest control
5. Seed snail of carrots, beets and peas to start and be transplanted
6. A potato starter
All these will come with instructions so you have a mini garden ready to go. That way you can duplicate them to fit your space whether it is a backyard garden, a community plot or even a sunny balcony. Save on your grocery bill and grow your connection with nature!
