Full Moon Herbs Workshop

This class will use the skills acquired in the Hands-on Herbs workshop and the plants available at Aurora Farm to expand your self-sufficiency working with herbs for your home and family. Each session is scheduled on or close to the full moon so that we can use the plants in their best development stage for harvesting. You will leave with a winter’s worth of some preparations, samples of others, a full collection of the plants, roots and seeds of Aurora Farm and recipes. Each session will include several of the following types of activities:
- Expand your own herbal garden. We will start seeds, divide perennial plants, take cuttings and roots to propagate new plants that you can take home to your own garden.
- Create items for your apothecary cupboard and first aid chest. We will make tinctures, oils, balms, hydrosols and other preparation. If you take all of the sessions, you will end with a complete home apothecary and first aid supplement.
- Each class will include new ways to use herbs in cooking, baking and teas. Take home some recipes to expand the usefulness of your culinary herbs.
- We will make smudge bundles, herbal bundles, steams and poultices ready-to-go when you need them.
- Each class we will make a different natural home and body care products with the herbal oils that we create.
