Backyard Chicken Workshop – May 10th, 2025

The rising price of eggs has us thinking that we’d like to help people have their own backyard chickens for eggs. We’ve had a beautiful, healthy flock of Heritage Chickens for over 20 years and would like to pass on this knowledge. You will learn about all the basic care of feeding, coop design, keeping your birds safe from Avian Flu and other diseases. We will talk about incubating and caring for chicks as well as how to care for senior and end of life hens. We will talk about predators, first aid, chicken behaviour, composting their waste for your gardens. There will be some hands-on time to enjoy our friendly chickens, and we may have chicks for sale at the end of the workshop.
Workshop will be held on our farm, 4265 Waverley Street
