Active Dry Yeast or Traditional Yeast must be proofed in warm water before using unlike the instant yeast. Proofing consists of re-hydrating the yeast for 5-10 minutes in lukewarm water with a tsp of salt and tsp of sugar. This provides the yeast with the optimum growing conditions. It can then be used with any recipe for bread available.
In our opinion, this method makes for a better loaf of bread and the yeast goes much further as you use less than the instant yeast.
We have packaged it up in three sizes for the occasional baker or the serious baker. Keep your yeast in the freezer to maintain freshness. Each of these sizes will produce many loaves of bread!
