Summertime Lotions and Potions

A fun-filled evening of sharing and taste-testing.  We’ll go through the basics of some of our best selling summer products, facial toner, SPF 22 cream, deodorant and Manitoba Mist body spray. Then we’ll turn our attention to non-alcoholic herbal cocktails that give our immune systems a boost at the same time.

Friday,  August 11 – 7pm to 9:30pm.  $45.  Samples and Recipes included.


Dancing with alpacas

Improvised tribal style belly dance facilitated by Accalia Roberts and Mandy from LunaSol. Accompanied by the Aurora Farm herd of alpacas. Alpacas are curious, social creatures who like to join the dance circle. Are you?

Goat Milk Soap Workshop 

Learn how to make goat milk soap from scratch. Materials for home soap-making can be purchased so that you can continue to make your own soap for yourself at home. Or you can purchase the tray of soap that you make at production costs.
Thursday, August 24, 6pm-10pm

PLEASE NOTE: Cutting and picking up of the soap will be on Friday August 25, from 6-7pm.

Cost per session: $50 Plus materials.  One batch of soap which will cut to approximately 25, 110gr bars is $25 base price plus essential oils.  You will need 60mls of essential oils which you may purchase at wholesale price from Aurora Farm or visit Hollow Reed Holistic on Corydon Ave for a complete line of essential oils.


Cheese and Crackers.

Learn how to make chèvre, ricotta and feta cheeses and design your own crackers to serve with them!  These are the easy and essential first cheeses that anyone can make at home.  Home-made crackers are delicious, nutritious, easy to make and very economical.

Tuesday, September 5th, 7:00-9:30pm.  $50 includes materials and recipes.   Basic equipment and ingredients can be purchased to carry on your cheese-making at home.


Everything Aurora – Homesteading Farm Boot Camp for Adults!


This four-day workshop for adults gives a well-rounded approach to the basics of homesteading as practiced at Aurora Farm. Lunches and snacks will come right out of our gardens, chicken coops and some wildcrafting. Each participant will take home many samples and can choose to purchase at cost their batch of soap.  Guaranteed to inspire, commune with animals and gardens, gain some practical skills and have a ton of fun with like-minded folks!!


Monday: milking goats and making chèvre cheese, garden walk and harvest, lunch and herbal infusions, soap-making, mini-horseback lesson

Tuesday: milking goats and feta cheese, bannock making, garden walk and harvest, lunch, natural care products (moisturizer, lip balm and deodorant), herbal tinctures, mini-horseback lesson

Wednesday: milking goats and ricotta cheese, bread-making, garden walk and harvest, lunch, herbal compresses and first aid, alpaca felt crafting, mini horseback lesson

Thursday: milking goats and mozzarella cheese, garden walk and harvest, making crackers, lunch, canning and pickling, mini horseback lesson.

Cost:  $325 for all four days or $90 per day. Includes lunches, snack and materials for products.  Soap batch may be purchased at cost which varies from $25 – $65 for 25 bars.
